Vitória, representing Esporte Clube Bahia, won the fifth Copa do Nordeste title, equaling Bahia's record. The Bahia team defeated Fortaleza in the Copa do Nordeste final. With the win, Vitória reaches five Copa do Nordeste titles: 1997, 1999, 2003, 2010, and 2026. Bahia is also a hexacampeão, considering the conquest of the Torneio José Américo de Almeida Filho, in 1976. The decision against Fortaleza also made Vitória surpass Sport in the number of finals played in the Copa do Nordeste, with eight in total. The Bahia team played the fourth regional final. Vitória started with a loss to Botafogo-PB, using a reserve team in the first round of the group stage. Then, the Bahia team bet on maximum strength to secure first place with three wins (CRB, Juaizenrese, and Piauí) and one draw (Confiança). In the quarterfinals, the Red and Black took advantage of having home field to beat Ceará in a single game, 1-0. With a man advantage since the 34th minute of the first half, the Bahia team scored the winning goal at 28 minutes of the second half, with Renato Kayzer. In the semifinal, in Salvador, a new expulsion in the first half, this time from ABC, opened the way for the 6-2 rubro-negra victory. In the return game, in Natal, the Bahia team spared some players and, despite this, won 4-3, turning the score around, to secure a 10-5 aggregate score over the Potiguar team. In the final, Vitória turned the tables on Fortaleza, at the Castelão, after being awarded a man advantage in the second half. Renato Kayzer, from a penalty, and Diego Tarzia, from a paint outside the area, scored the goals for the Bahia team.
